Join us for a film screening dedicated to queer visibility and artistic resistance. This Noble Land
Experimental short film (17 min), a Banana Emoji Production, written and produced by Tanlume Enyatseng, directed by Theo Silitshena.
Described as “an adaptation of Botswana's national anthem that reimagines a queer utopia where LGBTQIA+ bodies exist without prejudice or discrimination,” this non-verbal piece blends dance and performance to explore themes of patriotism, homophobia, vulnerability, and strength.
Banana Club: the Documentary
Documentary (16 min), produced by Tanlume Enyatseng and Banana Emoji Studios for Banana Club, directed by Monsieur Lamont.
This poetic short film traces the collective’s pioneering work in 2023 - documenting a year of film projects, grassroots activism, a self-funded artist residency, and efforts to reach queer communities in more remote areas of Botswana.
Followed by a conversation with filmmaker and founder of Banana ClubTanlume Enyatseng.
The event will be held in English. The films will feature English subtitles.
Hosted by botsala.collective, this event is an open invitation to engage, reflect, and celebrate queer stories through the lens of Southern African creatives. Free Entry – Donations Welcome. All proceeds go to Banana Club. Banana Club-Merch will be also available on a donation basis.
